The Neosho Storm competed in two tournaments Dec. 17-18 and went undefeated in all five games. The team of sixth grade girls played three games in the Washburn tournament on Saturday and two games in the Neosho tournament on Sunday.
In the Washburn tournament, the Storm won over Purdy 35-4, Southwest 50-6, and Cassville 39-15.
In the Neosho tournament, the Storm defeated Commerce 22-5 and finished the weekend by beating NEO 30-12. The win marked their third tournament championship for the season. Allison Burr and Jessica Van Lear were named to the all-tournament team in Neosho.
With the five wins over the weekend, the Storm improved their record to 21-4 for the year.
Emilee Anderson led the Storm in rebounds for the weekend, while Burr had the most steals and points. Cami Roy was the team’s assist leader.
Individual cumulative totals for the weekend are as follows: Anderson—31 rebounds, 9 steals, 3 assists, and 24 points; Burr—14 rebounds, 28 steals, 3 assists, and 63 points; Kali Godfrey—4 points, 5 steals, 2 assists, and 6 points; Amadiyah Hames—6 rebounds and 1 steal; Makayla Hayes—29 rebounds, 6 steals, and 27 points; Gabee Rainwater—3 rebounds and 1 steal; Roy—5 rebounds, 25 steals, 7 assists, and 23 points; Ashley Talley—12 rebounds, 8 steals, 1 assist, and 8 points; and Van Lear—20 rebounds, 17 steals, 4 assists, and 25 points.
