After opening the week with four straight losses to Joplin and Nevada, the Neosho Nightriders American Legion “AA” team bounced back nicely over the last few days.

Neosho defeated Carthage Thursday, 13-5, before picking up a two-game sweep over visiting Ketchum, Okla., Friday night at Roy B. Shaver Stadium.

The Nightriders won 7-1 and 6-2, making it three straight victories for Todd Moffett’s club.

In the opening game against Ketchum, Scott Adams threw a complete-game for Neosho, striking out seven and walking two. He aided his cause at the plate with a triple, a single and an RBI.

Corey Crandall, Lenny Neal and Jared Brown each had two hits and each drove in a run. Anthony Hendrix and Jacob Rickman both had a hit and both drove in a run.

In game two, Matt Link threw a complete-game for Neosho, striking out four and allowing only two earned runs in five innings of work.

Offensive stats were not available for game two.

Neosho returns to action Tuesday, playing at Salina, Okla., at 6 p.m. The team returns home to play Monett Thursday and home against Carthage Friday.
