After playing No. 5 ranked Republic, the Neosho volleyball Lady Wildcats ran into and lost to No. 4 ranked Ozark.

Ozark won 25-10 and 25-13 in what was the Lady Wildcats’ final Central Ozark Conference game of the year.

“Ozark is a great team, they won the Central Ozark Conference championship game and they are state ranked,” Neosho coach Amber Gallemore said. “They have 10 or 11 solid players in a rotation. They are a good team. In the second game we got within 14-11, but they rallied and we got in a rut.”

Kayln Vlasin had 10 kills and two blocks and Gallemore noted how impressed she was with the play of her standout junior. Tori Eads had seven assists and Michelle Forbes added three service points.

Neosho fell to 5-19-2 overall and was 0-7 in the COC.

Ozark prevailed in the JV game, 25-8 and 25-9.

Tiffany Duncan had two service points and six assists for Neosho. Melissa Heath had two kills and a block. Rheed Rook and Matty Liedtke both had two kills.

Neosho plays 6 p.m. Thursday at home versus College Heights Christian. As the team doesn’t have any seniors, it will serve as ‘Parent Appreciation Night’ for the Lady Wildcats.
