More than 1,200 Neosho residents were without power early this morning.

“We had some equipment malfunction at the substation at the end of the Neosho Boulevard (corner of Harmony Street and Neosho Boulevard),” said Emily Stanley, corporate communications coordinator for Empire District. “We had about 1,220 customers that were out and it looks as though they were out for just a little over an hour. We received our first call at 5:46 a.m. and we had every one back on by 6:50 a.m.”
Stanley said there was a crew already at the substation.

“They went in there and were able to check things out and be able to get things repaired and get people on really quickly,” she said.
