Saturday, Aug. 13
• Boman Family Reunion will be held at noon at Hammons Community Center, Fairview. For more information, call 623-0528 or 918-689-6352.
• The Shoal Creek Water Festival will be held from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Wildcat Park.  Events begin with a creek hike at 9:15, booths open at 10 a.m. and cardboard boat races start at 11:30 a.m. with kids’ shoebox races and a water rescue demonstration at 1:30 p.m. For more information visit www.wildcatglades.audubon.org.
• A benefit and auction for Philip Body will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 13 at the VFW Post No. 4142 Banquet Hall, 1412 Waldo Hatler Memorial Drive. Proceeds will help cover expenses. A barbecue dinner will be served.

Tuesday, Aug. 16
• The Bella Vista Community Concert Band will perform outdoors at 7 p.m. at Blowing Springs Park in Bella Vista, Ark.  Bring your own lawn chair for this free concert.  A picnic supper is available from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. for $7 from the Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club. Thursday, Aug. 18
• Seneca Special Road District will hold their meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Seneca Road Barn.

Friday, Aug. 19
• Monark Baptist Church will hold a benefit for its youth group’s “Make a Difference Youth Campaign” from 5:230 to 7:30 p.m. A spaghetti dinner, silent auction, pie auction and other activities are planned. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3 to 10, and free for children under the age of 3.

Saturday, Aug. 20
• The Granby Fireman’s Car Show will be held from 4-8 p.m. at Granby House (on Main Street). The first 25 participants will get dash plaques. Divisions are: 1959 and older, 1960-1969, 1970-1979, 1980-1989, 1990-1999, 2000 and newer, Po Boy’s best trucks and customized. First place trophies will be given in each division and one three-foot trophy for “best of show” will be presented. At 8:30 p.m. Granby House will show a movie. • Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center will hold a grand opening from 1 – 3 p.m. at its 1015 South Neosho Boulevard location across from Price Cutter. The community is invited to tour the building and for light refreshments. There will also be a free drawing for a La-Z-Boy chair. For more information call 455-0100.
• Fairview will hold s school reunion beginning at 11 a.m. The fire department will serve a noon meal and the class of 1957 will host a fellowship dinner for all the classes of the 1950s. Call 638-5368 to R.S.V.P. for the dinner.

• Wildcat Glades will be hosting “Duck Talk,” an educational event for children 3 – 6 years old from 10 – 11 a.m. The session costs $5. Reserve your space by calling 782-6287. Learn about duck migration and make a duck craft.

• The Genealogy Friends of the Library will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. in the genealogy room of the Neosho/Newton County Library. Light snacks will be served. Anyone interested in genealogy is welcome to attend.
