Aileen Garner, 95, former Neosho resident, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Innisfree Nursing Home, Rogers, Ark. 


Aileen Garner, 95, former Neosho resident, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Innisfree Nursing Home, Rogers, Ark.  

Aileen was born May 16, 1916, in Joplin and moved to Neosho in 1933 and to Rogers, Ark., in 2006. She was a homemaker, an avid bridge player, former member of Chapter BT, PEO and a member of Neosho First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and worked with the youth.  

Aileen married Cleo ‘Mooney’ Garner on June 9, 1935, in Neosho and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2000.  

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Jo Pangburn and husband, Jerry, Staunton, Va., and Lisa Ann Hayes and husband, Barney, Rogers; six grandchildren, Deborah Olson, John Pangburn, Ken Schrantz, Douglas Schrantz, Haylee Pierce and Taylor Hayes; 16 great- grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald W. Prater; and three sisters, Anna Ziegler, Helen McRoberts and Jewell Reaves.  

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Jay Boice will officiate. Interment will be in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery.  

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from noon-5 p.m. today and the family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
