With donations still coming in, Saturday’s Christopher Foundation Gospel Celebration raised $13,700, it was announced Tuesday.

The 11th annual event was held at the Neosho First Baptist Church and included a chili/hot dog dinner, live music and live and silent auctions. The gospel celebration was a fundraiser for the Christopher Foundation, which works to raise public awareness of pediatric cancer, support patients and families and helps fund cancer research.

Cathy Cooley, mother of Christopher Cooley, whom the foundation is named for, said she expects the finally tally to hit $14,000 when all donations are finally counted. That is $2,000 more than last year.

“It has been a great year,” Cooley said. “We appreciate the community and everything everyone has done.”
