Carolyn ‘Sue’ Casey, 58, Ozark, Mo., formerly of Neosho, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.


Carolyn ‘Sue’ Casey, 58, Ozark, Mo., formerly of Neosho, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 26, 1953 in Neosho and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1971 and worked at WXY Sporting Goods since 1989, retiring due to illness. Sue was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Heather Flowers and husband, Justin, Ozark, and Melanie Odell and husband, Sgt. Stephen Odell, U.S. Army, Ft. Riley, Kan.; three grandsons who were the light of her life, Ethan Wayne and Haden Allen Barbee and Riley Thomas Odell; and an adopted granddaughter she always held in her heart. Sue believed that being a grandmother was her greatest joy.

 Also surviving is her father, Wesley Slaughter, Neosho; two brothers, Ronnie Slaughter and wife, Linda, Noel, and Richard Slaughter and partner, Dan Escobar, San Antonio, Texas; and two sisters, Mary Bond and husband, Dale, Neosho, and Connie Langum and husband, Rick, Springfield.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Jane Davis Slaughter; an infant brother and best friend, Nedra Carney.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Rev. Buddy Funk, Chaplain Suzy Lynch and Rev. Alan Brock will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, southwest of Neosho.The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time.
