The Crowder Roughriders seem to be peaking at the right time. After a two-game sweep over Region XVI foe St. Charles on Thursday, Crowder is now riding a six-game winning streak with the regular season winding down.


The Crowder Roughriders seem to be peaking at the right time. After a two-game sweep over Region XVI foe St. Charles on Thursday, Crowder is now riding a six-game winning streak with the regular season winding down.

Thursday, Crowder had a terrific comeback with five runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat St. Charles 9-8 in game one. Then, in game two, the ‘Riders jumped ahead early and beat the Cougars 6-2.

In game one, the Crowder bats heated up late and Drew Crain pulled the Riders ahead with a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Justin Treece was 3-for-3 and reached base four times in that win.

In game two, Logan Pearson was the hero at the plate with three RBI and two hits in the win.
Doug Sefcik threw six strong innings, striking out seven, to searn the win on the mound. Cody Jackson pitched a scoreless seventh to secure the victory.

Crowder (39-15, 20-6 Region XVI) will host Longview CC?at 5 p.m. today to finish regular season play.
