SENECA — The Seneca volleyball team opened Big 8 Conference play Tuesday by hosting Carl Junction at Seneca High School.

After a back and forth match in the first game, the Lady Bulldogs prevailed and went on to earn the victory with a 25-18, 25-15 sweep.

Shelby Wilson led the Lady Bulldogs with an ace, while Bradyn Wall added 20 assists, Tobey Adams a block, Katie Wiele 14 digs and MacKenzie Irwin nine kills.

Molli Cooper paced the Lady Indians with five assists. Mikalee Kime turned in two blocks, while Hannah Gorham added 10 digs and Rachel Butterfield and Maranda Sparks three kills each.

Seneca fell to 4-8-1, 0-1 in the Big 8. Carl Junction improved to 16-4-1, 1-0.

Carl Junction also won the B match 25-20, 25-16.

The Lady Indians host Aurora at 6 p.m. Thursday.
