Noah C. Brown, 97, Diamond, died Nov. 21, 2013, at Freeman West ER following two years of failing health.

Noah C. Brown, 97, Diamond, died Nov. 21, 2013, at Freeman West ER following two years of failing health.

Mr. Brown was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Rocky Comfort and was a lifelong area resident. He worked for Sears doing appliance repair and later owned and operated Brown Repair Services in Diamond. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the Diamond First Baptist Church.

Noah and Thelma (Patterson) were married on June 30, 1935, at Joplin and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are four children, Joyce Griffin, Carthage, Joy Richardson, San Antonio, Texas, Curt Brown and wife, Wilma, Diamond, and Noah Glen Brown and wife, Judy, Jay, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Noah is preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Barnard.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Diamond First Baptist Church. Rev. Ron Crow will officiate. Interment will be in the Diamond Cemetery and grandsons Jerry Shipman, Gary Shipman, Mike Griffin, Danny Brown, Steve Brown and Brad Brown will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Brown's Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
