Glenn Leroy Cole, 87, formerly of Newtonia, died Jan. 15, 2014, at the Baptist Home in Ozark, Mo., after a short illness.  


Glenn was born March 25, 1926 in Newton County, to Truman M. and Julia (Ryno) Cole.
He married Sue McCracken  on Nov. 23, 1958. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2006.  
Glenn lived most of his life in the Newtonia area, owning and operating a large dairy farm and later operating a spraying and fertilizer business. He was a member of the Newtonia Baptist Church. He took flying lessons and learned to pilot a plane. While in Ozark, he drove many of the residents to Springfield for doctor’s appointment, etc. He spent many hours, working very difficult puzzles.


He is survived by one son, David Cole. He is also survived by one sister, Neva Williams, Neosho; a sister-in-law, Rosalee Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.  


In addition to his wife, he was  preceded in death by two brothers,  Kenneth and Robert Cole.


The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at the Baptist Home in Ozark, today.  Cremation services under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
