Helen Sims, 91, Granby, died at March 1, 2014, in Granby, following a short term illness.  

Helen was born July 18, 1922, in Granby, the daughter of Earl and Ella (Peters) Largen. She was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker.  

Helen married Terrel Sims, on Aug. 17, 1942, and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1996.  

She is survived by four children, Deloris Shewmake, Granby, Terry Sims and wife, Brenda, Neosho, Cheryl  Fazel and husband, Tom, Wichita, Kan., and Shirley L. Castiaux and husband, John, Cookeville, Tenn.; a granddaughter they raised, Danette Whitman, Granby; one brother, Bill Largen, Afton, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Sims; grandson, Justin Sims; three sisters; and two brothers.  

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, Rev. Billy Martin will officiate. Interment will be in the Granby Memorial Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Nick Linton, Mason Whitman, Richard Sims, II, Jeremy Workman, Pat Kelly and Rick Shewmake. Honorary pallbearer will be Harry Sprenkle.  

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
