The Neosho Lady Wildcats picked up their sixth win of the season, doing it in the regular season finale on Thursday with a 2-0 shutout of McAuley Catholic in varsity soccer action in Joplin.

In a defensive battle, Neosho proved to be a little too strong for the Lady Warriors on both sides of the ball. The Lady Wildcats held the Lady Warriors to three shots — only one of which was on goal. Meanwhile, Neosho blasted nine shots — six on goal.

The game remained scoreless through the first half, with Neosho finally breaking the goose egg on a goal by Hannah Warren — her first goal of the season and the eventual game winner — off an assist from Keileigh Thomlinson in the 57th minute. Corea Lowery added an insurance goal unassisted in the 66th minute to make it 2-0.

Hailey Neumann saved one shot while pitching the shutout in goal for the Lady Wildcats. Neosho (6-10) now gets set to take on Carthage in the Class 2, District 12 Tournament on Tuesday at Cardinal Stadium in Webb City.
