Malda M. Carter, 84, Goodman, died Nov. 3, 2014, at Medicalodge in Neosho, following a lengthy illness.  

Malda was born Feb. 13, 1930 in Bethpage, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Vaude (Hackney) Harris and was a lifelong area resident.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, gardening, cooking, hummingbirds and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Granby Church of Christ.  

Malda married Farrell Carter on July 31, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1996.  She is survived by two daughters, Diane Harrel and husband, Don, Centerton, Ark., and Denise Stafford and husband, Bobby, Neosho; one brother, Olen Harris and wife, Leanna; one sister, Evelyn Harris; three grandchildren, Ryan Harrel and wife, Sabrina, Victoria Robertson and husband, Tyler, and Rachel Stafford; and three great-grandchildren, Carter Robertson, Samantha Harrel and Logan Harrel.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine and Fern.  

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at the Union Cemetery, Stella, with Bobby Stafford officiating.  

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho from 9 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
