LAMAR — The four-time defending Class 2 state champion Lamar Tigers made quick work of the Seneca Indians on Friday night, scoring the game’s first 21 and final 35 points en route to a 56-6 running clock victory.

LAMAR — The four-time defending Class 2 state champion Lamar Tigers made quick work of the Seneca Indians on Friday night, scoring the game’s first 21 and final 35 points en route to a 56-6 running clock victory.

Down 21-0, the Indians put their only points on the board on junior quarterback Derek Burr’s 1-yard run. The scoring run was set up by a long pass play between Burr and senior receiver Quentin Cotten.

The second half was spent in running clock, since Lamar enjoyed a 42-6 halftime advantage.

Seneca (0-2, 0-2 Big 8) hits the road again next Friday against Mount Vernon (0-2, 0-2). Both teams seek their first victories of the young season.
