BRANSON — The McDonald County Lady Mustangs finished 2-3 overall at the Branson Tournament on Saturday.
McDonald County (3-3 overall) won both matches against El Dorado Springs.
In pool play, the Lady Mustangs were 1-2 with a 2-0 win (25-17, 25-17) over El Dorado Springs balanced straight-set losses against Lebanon (16-25, 14-25) and Mount Vernon (15-25, 14-25).
In the first match against El Dorado Springs, Lauren Goff had seven service points and Bailey Ricketts proved strong at the net with seven kills.
In the loss against Lebanon, Brittney Stone led the attack with five kills, while Alex Gross and Rickett each contributed two service points.
In the loss against Mount Vernon, Bailey Tyson, Gross and Rickett each chipped in one kill and Gross added three service points.
Playing El Dorado Springs for the second time, the teams fought three sets before McDonald County prevailed 2-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-21).
In a match that produced 137 points, Gross and Goff combined for 25 service points with Gross at 13 and Goff 12. Stone led with 10 kills and Lindsey Limore added six.
The Lady Mustangs found themselves in another three-set match against Reeds Spring. On this occasion, however, the Lady Mustangs fell short as Reeds Spring won 2-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-12).
Gross led the Lady Mustangs with six service points and five kills, while Limore matched Gross with five kills.
McDonald County plays Webb City on the road Tuesday.
