JOPLIN — A Diamond man was treated for minor injuries, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol was looking for a “small unknown-colored truck” that fled the scene of a Newton County incident early Friday in which a pedestrian was struck by the vehicle.

JOPLIN — A Diamond man was treated for minor injuries, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol was looking for a “small unknown-colored truck” that fled the scene of a Newton County incident early Friday in which a pedestrian was struck by the vehicle.

Timothy J. Meeker, 22, was struck by the vehicle at about 3 a.m. while walking along Elm Road two miles south of Joplin, according to the patrol. The vehicle, traveling in an unknown direction, left the scene. The report stated that Meeker was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
