It says in Matthew 20:1 – “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.” God would rather have us serve Him because we want to and not have us do it because we are under contract. God is not in the business of hiring Christians. He’s only looking for volunteers who are committed to service without any worldly guarantee. God expects His followers to be just that - followers. And when people will follow Jesus, He will do exceptional things in their lives.

There have been many people who if they would have just committed their lives to those two words Jesus asks of them; I believe today this world would look different than it does. Jesus said in John 12:26, “If anyone serves me, let him follow me.”

When anyone will break away from the cares of this world there is no way to gauge what God may choose to do with them. For the person who will take God’s word at its full value then there is likely to be some great dividends reaped. Many are called to be workers in the vineyards of God’s kingdom. Every day God sends out the call for laborers to serve His purpose. God is looking for laborers and at all stages of life, He is watching for men and women who are willing to put all they have into His keeping and step up and do what He asks.

No matter, the best you can ever do for yourself is nothing compared to what God can do, and will do, for you if you’ll give Him what you have. There are thousands of civic groups, clubs, societies, associations, and committees. There are lots of ways that people get involved to have an effect on their community. Yet they could never do more than just plainly believing Christ and be what He needs them to be to the people of their community.

If you want to have a real impact on this world, then live your life God’s way.
