A Neosho man is charged with domestic assault and running from responding police.
Billy Cruse, 41, also is charged with resisting arrest after Neosho police were called at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday to the 700 block of West Hill Street.
“He pushed (the woman) down. She got injured in the process, but nothing major; just some scrapes and bruises,” Lt. Mike Sharp said. “Then he took off on foot and we had to apprehend him.”
Also Wednesday:
• Derek Johnson, 24, is charged with possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine after an officer answered a 5:35 p.m. call about a suspicious person in the 800 block of West Harmony Street.
“He had two warrants from Jasper County,” Sharp said. “During the arrest, we found he was in possession of a clear, plastic baggie that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.”
• Authorities had not located a dog that bit a 16-year-old girl as she was walking home from school. An officer responded at 5:14 p.m. to near Otto Car Wash, 620 Brook St., after a black, pit bull-type dog bit the girl on the arm. The girl suffered three puncture wounds with a little bit of bleeding and was taken to the hospital for observation, Sharp said.
