The Neosho Habitat For Humanity will be hosting a Community meeting at 6 p.m, on Sept. 26 at the New Mac Community room.
"We would like to invite anyone who is interested in becoming a board member, a committee person or volunteering with the construction of a Habitat home to join us so we can share information about our local Habitat organization," organizers said.
With the public's help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.
Future Habitat homeowners are selected locally with the criteria centering on their need for decent housing, their ability to repay an affordable mortgage and their willingness to partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home.
Those future homeowners perform hundreds of hours of— sweat equity which can take many forms: building their home or a home for another family, build-site clean-up.
"Most of all, we build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter," organizers said. "Decent shelter is something we all need to thrive, and your help makes that possible for more families every day.
