Dale Lett, Neosho Special Road District Commissioner, was honored in a surprise reception Tuesday afternoon in the County Commissioner's office at the courthouse.

Dale Lett, Neosho Special Road District Commissioner, was honored in a surprise reception Tuesday afternoon  in the County Commissioner's office at the courthouse.  
Lett is retiring after 22 years of service with the Special Road District.  Newton County Commission Marilyn Ruestman presented Lett with a Certificate of Appreciation to Lett, honoring his years of service. Lett also received a plaque from the Neosho Special Road District thanking him for his service.   
"I would have put on my coat and tie if I'd known there would be pictures," Lett said with a smile, commenting on the surprise event.  A cake was also served.
Lett served as Neosho Special Road District Commissioner from 1995 until 2017.
