Christmas is in full-swing, as Neosho will be transformed into the Annual Dickens Christmas Faire, starting Thursday and concluding on Saturday.
"It (faire) starts with our with our Ladies Night Holiday Market VIP Night, we have more than 60 vendors that will be set up at the old Mills Park Centre, 100 N. College, from 5-9 p.m. Thursday," said Ashley Siler, events coordinator with the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce. "There will be everything from crafts to kids toys to rugs to pottery, lots of different jewelry, you can definitely get your shopping done pretty easily in one place if you want to come on Thursday night. With that VIP night, entry is $5 (at the door), with hors d'oeuvres, and lots of giveaways on that Thursday night. Then on Friday, the holiday market will be open for $2 admission from 5-9 p.m. Then on Saturday, we are doing our Breakfast with Santa at the Civic, it is a free community event, kids can come in, get their pictures taken with Santa, we will have breakfast, pancakes, sausage and some different vendor booths that will be set up in there from 8-11 a.m."
On Saturday, the holiday market will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mills Park Centre.
The money from the admission to the market, Siler said it helps the chamber.
"We have done some promotions and different things this year, we are excited to bring this back," she said. "It is a huge community event that people love. Our vendors are actually coming from all over the four-state areas. Many of them will actually stay, it is definitely bringing that money to our hotels and different things like that. People come from all over the four-states to come shop at it too.

Christmas lighting
The city of Neosho will host the the Annual Lighting Ceremony of the Christmas lights will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30,  in Big Spring Park.  Carols by the Neosho Christian School, the reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and an appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog will be held.

Christmas parade
This year's theme for the parade will be “All I Want for Christmas" and will start at 5 p.m. Saturday.
According to Siler, "The theme will allow participants to create a showcase of what their Christmas wishes may be. Entries are encouraged to be creative, as several prizes will be awarded."
Currently, Siler said there are around 60 entires for the parade, however some of the entires have more than one, so the parade should surpass the 120 participants.
"If people have not gotten their registration forms in yet, i still have some spots for some late entries as well-being," she said. "The parade is the traditional parade route, wills start on Spring Street go down one side of the Neosho Square and go up by the post office and then come back down the other side of the square. The announcer's stand and the judging stand will be across from the CBT. The square will be blocked off so you will not be able to park on the square."
Siler anticipates the weather to be good and encourages everyone to come out and attend the faire and the parade.
"It (faire) gives our community something to look forward to as well," she said. "We hope to get the season started. people are great to come out, we anticipate at least 1,000 people to come out during the parade."
