The Friends Gift Shop at the Neosho National Fish Hatchery will be open from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 2.

The Friends Gift Shop at the Neosho National Fish Hatchery will be open from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 2.
Susan Carlsten, manager of the gift shop, says this one-time Sunday opening gives people a chance to visit one of the most unusual shops in Neosho.
"We have many outdoor related items at very reasonable prices and we even carry Neosho postcards, an item not easy to find," Carlsten said. "We have some Neosho items such as pottery, t-shirts, caps and many local history books. This is a great place to shop for the outdoor men and women and for children."
The fish hatchery will also be open so shoppers can tour the visitors center, walk the grounds and even feed the fish.
"This is a great place to bring children and out-of-town guests," Carlsten added.
The gift shop is run entirely with volunteers and all profits go back to the hatchery. Many items are made by local craftsmen and artists.
Gift shop funds provide support for the Veterans, Kids, Handicapped and Senior fishing derbies. Everything from the fishing rods, bait, hooks, bobbers and even the meals are paid for by the Friends of the Neosho National Fish Hatchery. The funds come from the gift shop. In addition, the Friends have purchased property and other items for the hatchery.
The gift shop will be open on Saturday as usual from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
