A longstanding business in Neosho recently broke ground for their new location.
Service 1 Federal Credit Union, currently located on Harmony Street, Neosho, broke ground on their future site on Gardner-Edgewood Drive near Lowe’s in Neosho, on May 10.
"I have worked with Service 1 for the last 10 years and throughout that, we have grown in the community, and we are able to build a larger building to better serve the residents," said Jessica Cullers, regional director of business development. "We have been in Neosho for 35 years. It is very existing for us, the expansion of the membership and of the growth in the community. We are very excited to make this investment in the community,  great location, great opportunity."
The new building will be 3,700-square-feet, compared to the current building size of 800-square-feet.
"Service 1 is a not for profit financial cooperative and we have financial services for our members, so we have savings, checking, everything, Christmas clubs, loans, boat, RV, pretty much everything that you could (think of), we have IRA,  a full service financial institution," said  Service 1 FCU CEO Kim Bourdo.
The new branch will feature a member hospitality area, kids’ zone and multiple drive-thru banking options with ATM service. It was designed by Michigan-based architectural and engineering firm Hooker DeJong, Inc. and is being constructed by local contractor Marion Company, LLC, dba Construction Services Group. Service 1 FCU expects to make the move from 816 W. Harmony when the project is completed later this year.
