After a high speed chase that began at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday after the Neosho Police Department began an investigation eventually involved deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Department, the Missouri Highway Patrol, and members of the Neosho Fire Department along with several other agencies, the suspect, as yet unnamed, crashed his vehicle and fled on foot.

Information of Wanted Subject from Moore, OK
Earlier today Newton County Deputies, Neosho Police Officers and Troopers with the MSHP pursed a subject who was suspected of using stolen credit cards in Neosho.
After a chase and crash of the suspect’s vehicle, which was stolen, the suspect fled on foot in the area of Business 60 and Highway 59 (Elwood Junction) in Newton County.
It was determined the suspect was an escapee from Moore, Oklahoma who was arrested and escaped custody a week ago.
Walter B. Blount, is a white male, 24 years of age, is 5’11” and approximately 161 pounds.
At this time he has not been located. He is possibly armed and should be considered dangerous.
