Neosho, MO - The Presidential Search Committee for Crowder College recently narrowed the field of candidates for the next President of Crowder to four finalists, which they recommended for consideration to the Crowder College Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees reviewed the Committee’s recommendations in closed session on October 22, 2018, and upon completion of the review, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the recommendations of the search committee. The four finalists for president will be brought to campus and separately interviewed by the Board of Trustees.
The Presidential Search Committee was headed by Board Chair Andy Wood and had representatives of faculty, staff, administration, Board of Trustees, and the community. Applications were accepted from June through September 30, with the Committee reviewing and evaluating the applications, coming to agreement on the four. A total of 37 applications were received.
The four finalists are: Dr. Harold Arnett of Arkansas City, Kansas, and former Vice President at Cowley College; Dr. Glenn Coltharp, Asbury, Missouri, current VP at Crowder; Dr. Beatriz Joseph, San Antonio, Texas, and a VP at Palo Alto College; and Dr. Julie Murray-Jensen of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and a VP at Klamath Community College.
During their campus visits, the candidates will also be meeting with various constituent groups and public forums will be held which will be open to everyone. Comments and concerns may be submitted directly to the Board of Trustees during this process. Board representatives may visit candidates’ home campuses if they deem it to be necessary before making an offer to any of the candidates.
The Board would like to have the process completed and a new president named sometime within the next sixty days or sooner, with a starting date to be worked out with the winning candidate depending on current contract and other considerations. Dr. Tom Burke will continue to serve as Interim President as needed.
