From their school days in Neosho, through high school graduation and beyond, six Neosho men forged a friendship that has endured. They kept in touch over the years and each of them went on to serve their country. For the last 26 years, they've met once a year in Neosho, where their friendship began.
In the black and white photo, taken in 1952, six young men face the camera. They each graduated in 1952 and 1953. The original group included Gary Greer, Herb Reding, Darrell Whitman, Jerry Mooneyham, Charles Wilson and Dean Cope.
The color photo was taken at the friends' most recent meeting in Neosho with the five remaining guys.
According to Charles Wilson, all of the guys are veterans, Trump supporters, and they don't take knees.
He also shared a little background on each friend.
Charles Wilson, Class of '52, received his B.S. degree in 1960, served in the U.S. Navy and now lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Gary Greer, Class of '52 received his B.S. degree in 1976, also served in the Navy and lives in Houston, Texas. Herb Reding, Class of '52, served in the United States Army and is a business owner living in Neosho. Dean Cope, Class of '52, earned his B.S. in 1961 and served in the United States Air Force. As the only deceased member of the group, Cope lived in Scottsdale, Arizona.
