If you're a Missouri resident between the ages of 18 and 34, Missouri State Representative Andrew McDaniel wants you to own an AR-15 - and he wants it required by law.
House Bill #1108, filed by McDaniel on Friday.
Should the bill pass, every resident of the state at least 18 years of age and under the age of 35 on August 28, 2019 would have one year to purchase an AR-15. Any resident who qualifies as a resident after that date will also have a year to get armed.
A resident may sell an AR-15, provided that the Missouri resident owns at least one other AR-15.
McDaniel, a Republican, is the District 150 representative and makes his home in Deering, MO. Located in Pemiscot County in the Missouri Bootheel, McDaniel was elected to office in 2014.
The bill is receiving widespread attention both in Missouri and nationwide.
