Grow Neosho Economic Development is pleased to announce that its Executive Committee has unanimously approved the hiring of Jake Heisten as the organization’s new Executive Director, and that he has accepted the position, said Jeff Werneke, President of the Grow Neosho Board of Directors. Heisten began his new role on April 15th

Heisten’s background and qualifications are well suited to his new responsibilities, said Werneke. His long service as field representative for Congressman Long and legislative and research assistant for Senator Nodler has provided him with an excellent view of the dynamics that drive the field of economic development, as well as allowing him to become familiar with many of the professionals involved in the field across the state of Missouri.

Heisten’s background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri Southern State University. He has been recognized by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce as a 2018 Young Professional of the Year. He was also recognized in 2015 as a Carthage Emerging Leader. Jake is currently a member of the Neosho Lions Club.

Heisten, his wife Rachel and their four children currently reside in Newton County.

Heisten succeeds the retiring CEO of Grow Neosho, Michael Franks.
