The City of Neosho has placed a special ½ Cent Public Safety Tax Proposition (Proposition SAFER) on the April 7, 2020 election ballot. The tax is designed to support the public safety agencies of the City of Neosho ie; Support Agencies For Emergency Readiness (SAFER).

Recently, the Southwest Missouri Professional Firefighters Political Action Committee announced their endorsement of Proposition SAFER and have begun a public awareness campaign throughout the Neosho community in support of the measure.

The City of Neosho itself will begin a series of Town Hall Meetings to present Proposition SAFER to the public further explaining the reasoning behind the measure and the benefits the Neosho Community will gain by approval of the proposition.

The first Town Hall will be held Thursday, March 19 at 6PM at the Neosho Civic Auditorium, 109 W Main Street. The next presentation is part of a Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce April 2020 Election Forum scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at 6PM at the Neosho High School Cafeteria. The final Town Hall will be presented by the City of Neosho on Thursday, April 2 at 5PM at the Neosho/Newton County Public Library. Everyone is encouraged to attend any one or all of the meetings.
