Neosho, Mo. ⎯ The Newton County Health Department reports another case of laboratory confirmed COVID-19 (coronavirus) in a Newton County resident.
This brings the total of positive cases in Newton County to 7. The latest case resides in South Joplin and has been in self-isolation since becoming ill. The Newton County Health Department has begun its investigation and contacts have been notified. This case is not travel related and has had no known contact to a positive case.
Please continue to practice social distancing and maintaining 6 feet away from people when in public. Stay home, unless it is necessary for you to go out. Please wash your hands frequently throughout the day, cover your cough and sneezes, and clean frequently touched surfaces. And remember to stay home when you are sick unless you need medical attention. Please notify ahead any first responder/healthcare provider of your symptoms when seeking medical attention.
