As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Neosho has determined it to be in the best interest of its citizens, businesses, and visitors to cancel a previously scheduled annual event for 2020 - Celebrate Neosho. The annual event is normally held on the last Saturday of June and celebrates, according to the City of Neosho's website, independence, heroes, family, neighbors, the outdoors, the arts and all things wonderful about the local community.

This year's Celebrate Neosho would have been held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 but is cancelled. But, the scheduled fireworks display is still under contract with Riverside Fireworks and will take place as planned. Full details will be released closer to the date but the tentative plans calls for the fireworks to be staged from Morse Park, as they were in 2019.

Plans are underway, however, for another local festival to be held as planned. The Neosho Fall Festival is slated for Saturday, October 3. The daylong event, which features a variety of arts, crafts, historical displays, community and commercial vendors, food and music will coincide this year with the Neosho Alumni Associations All School Reunion, which will feature events on both Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3. The combined events, along with Homecoming Football Friday night, will make for a memorable event.
