Gerald Dale “Mac” McIntire, 89 of Joplin died Feb. 3, 2016, at Spring River Christian Village.
Gerald was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Goodman, the son of Orville and Mae (Yocum) McIntire, and was a lifelong area resident.
He served in the U.S. Army from June 13, 1945, through March 16, 1947.
He worked as foreman in the body shop of Dan Stanley Ford and Gus Shaffer Ford until retirement.
He was a very giving man, always helping others and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Gerald married Rowena Tippie on Nov. 12, 1945. She survives. Other survivors include two sisters, Pauline Tackett and husband Victor of Bartlesville, Okla., and Lorene Olson of Diamond; sister-in-law, Yvonne McIntire of Joplin; brother-in-law, John Dorsey of Joplin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Maxine Dorsey, and two brothers, Everet McIntire and Raymond McIntire, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho. Jim Martin will officiate.
Interment will be in Peace Valley Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Everet McIntire, Dennis Olson, Don Olson, Steve Olson, Bill Tackett, Bob Tackett, Randy Castle and Kevin Martin.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
