Bob Begey, 70, New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017, after several years of ill health.

Bob Begey, 70, New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017, after several years of ill health.  
He was born on Nov. 3, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Charles W. (Chuck) Begey and Charlotte Katherine Begey. He moved to Neosho when he was 2 years old. He attended Jaybird Country School and graduated from Neosho High School in 1964, where he also played basketball.
He was a member of the first graduating class at Crowder College with a degree in drafting and art.
He worked for Linde Company of Neosho as well as Allgier and Martin Associates of Joplin while attending Crowder College. Bob was a member of St. Canera Catholic Church in Neosho.
On July 13, 1968, he married Jackie Donaldson, also of Neosho.
They moved to Tulsa, Okla., where he worked for North American Rockwell, working on the NASA Space Program.  He also took additional classes at Tulsa University. Later, he worked for Crest Engineering in Tulsa.
The family later moved to Plano, Texas, where he worked for Ford, Bacon, and Davis in Dallas. He attended more classes at at El Centro College in Dallas and earned his engineering degree. He later worked for TPA Engineering in Dallas, traveling to Singapore and to South Korea for them.
He married Nancy Liggierito in October 1992. After living in Plano, they moved to Van Alstyne, Texas. When Bob retired in 2008, they owned and operated Wintergreen Christmas tree Farm for several years. They later moved to New Braunfels, Texas, where he started having health problems.
Bob had been in the Missouri National Guard and the Oklahoma Air National Guard in the 1960s and 1970s.
His favorite hobby was sailing in earlier years with his children. He also enjoyed working on vintage cars.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of New Braunfels, Texas, his children, who he is very proud of, Todd C. Begey, Neosho, Jason M. Begey (Michelle), Neosho, Katherine E. Roger (Stephane), of Georgetown, Canada, and his beloved grandchildren, Troy A. Begey, Neosho, Ethan M. Reil, Neosho, and Sebastian L. and Charlotte G. Roger, Georgetown, Canada, and also his friend and mother of his children, Jackie Begey, Neosho.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Katherine Begey, on Nov. 4, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif., his father and stepmother, Charles (Chuck) and Mildred Begey, formerly of Neosho and his grandparents, Charlie and Pauline Begey, also formerly of Neosho.
He has been cremated and no services are planned.  His family will miss him greatly.
