Edward D. Hembree, 67, Diamond, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 21, 2017, at Mt. Vernon Veteran’s Home following a lengthy illness.

Edward D. Hembree, 67, Diamond, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 21, 2017, at Mt. Vernon Veteran’s Home following a lengthy illness.  
He was born Dec. 28, 1949, in Racine, the son of Cecil and Maggie Ann (Shields) Hembree. Edward was a lifelong area resident and served in the U.S. Army. His love and passion for woodworking was displayed in his cabinet making and carpentry work. He was totally devoted to his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  
Edward is survived by three children, Deania Ellis and husband, Andrew, Neosho, Becky Gray and husband, Chris, Neosho and Edward Hembree, Jr. and wife, Jennifer,   Diamond; eight grandchildren, Jon Shields, Corey Pio and wife, Dana, Sarah Shields, Jacob Pio and wife, Farrah, Nate Yoder, Taylor Hembree, Jarron Hembree, and Ben Yoder; two great grandchildren, Ace Pio and Sadie Pio.  
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; numerous brothers and sisters and he is survived by one brother, Wesley Hembree.  
Private graveside services will be held.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho.
