Vera Dean Cole, 95, passed away at her Neosho home on July 31, 2018.  
She was born Nov. 26, 1922 in Granby, to Ronald and Opal Marie (Sanders) Mesplay.  Vera was a lifelong area resident and, along with her late husband, was a dairy farmer in Diamond before locating to Neosho.  She was a member of High Street Christian Church.  In her spare time, Vera enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, sewing and cross-stitching.

Vera Dean and Jesse Cole were married April 30, 1943 in Los Angeles, Calif.; he preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 2011.  
She is survived by three daughters: Kay Butler and husband, Jim, Lincoln, Mo., Linda Eubanks and husband, Virgil, Joplin, and Rhonda Self and husband, Charles, Neosho; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Vera was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Hattie Mesplay; and sister, Mary Lee Bowman.  
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho. Virgil Eubanks and Jeremy Eubanks will officiate.  Interment will follow at Diamond Cemetery, Diamond.  A visitation will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. today, at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho,.
