David Aaron Seifried, age 80, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 6, 1940, in Canton, Oklahoma, the son of Durwood Leon and Erma Belle (Findley) Seifried. He served in the United States Navy on board the USS Ranger during the Vietnam Era.
David began his business career in the shoe industry in Dallas, Texas, in sales with Hush Puppies
and later as an executive with Wolverine Worldwide/Hush Puppies in Michigan. Then with Juvenile Shoe/Clinic Shoe and the TT Group Inc. in Aurora.
His interests were varied from real estate, building homes, gardening, woodworking and reading.
On March 29, 1972, he married Diana Beard in Las Vegas, Nevada.
David is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Diana; whom he gave the nickname “d” which
defined her in his eyes. And also, Eric Seifried, son and his wife Tammy, Gary Seifried, son and
his wife Denise and his daughter Tonya Seifried; four grandchildren, Jeff Seifried and his wife,
Lindsay Haymes-Seifried, Grant Seifried Lauren Seifried and Evan Seifried.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood and Erma, and one daughter, Tammie Bowen.
His Sister-in-law, Beverly Baldwin wrote on his 80 th birthday “You are a fine, good man,
brilliant in life and brilliant in business, kind and generous, fun and playful. You brought love,
joy, peace and happiness to all.”
A private, family graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at
the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Mike Cummings, close family friend
and Minister will deliver the eulogy, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home,
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made payable to the Wounded Warriors
Foundation, or Folds of Honor, in care of the funeral home.
