MIAMI, Okla. — The Neosho Wildcats, between their varsity and JV, earned seven all-tournament selections from the Mickey Mantle Classic.
Triple Crown Division champions Neosho took four all-tournament spots, highlighted by division MVP Marcus Crawford. The other three nods went to Colton Marion, Kaleb Moreland and Jacob Galbraith.
McDonald County finished third place and earned four spots, with Jamie Hanke, Oakley Roessler, Emanuel Baisch and Grant Cooper.
Wyandotte’s Braxton Douthit, Carson Loncarich, Devan McLoud and Ryan Cooper made the grade for the runner-ups, while fourth place Miami earned four spots for Keshon Withal, Hunter Hartman, Drew Williams and Connor Womack.
Locust Grove’s trio of Alex Halbert, Darryle Trammell and Blake Gibson and Sequoyah’s Logan Bush rounded out the Triple Crown selections.
Comet Division runner-up Diamond took home four all-tournament selections: Carter Prewitt, Trey Bowman, Cole Seward and Hunter Renfro.
Neosho JV’s Kaden King, A.C. Marion and Mason Ray earned the other three nods for the Wildcats, who placed fourth in the Comet Division.
MVP and Tape Measure Award winner Ryan Lechner led Comet Division champs Haskell’s four selections and the big guy was joined by Trenton Campbell, Dustin Herriman and Jakoby Gouldsby.
Afton’s Gabe Mustain, Quapaw’s Jonas Gregory and Andrew Barnes, Fairland’s Kody Benton and Gavin Long, Commerce’s Chase Cunningham, Blake Kelly and Carlos Pinales, and Sarcoxie’s Darin Conway rounded out the rest of the Comet Division selections.
Commerce’s Bryce Waybright, son of tournament director Brian Waybright, won the Great Teammate, one of a couple awards that reflect aspects of Mantle.
Former Kansas City Royal stalwart Bret Saberhagen spoke at the awards banquet Saturday night at the First Christian Church in Miami.
