COLUMBIA — The Crowder Lady Roughriders made sure they did not have a repeat of last season’s two-and-done at the Region 16 Tournament.
Emphatically made sure, that is.
Crowder scored four runs in the first, six in the second and four each in the third and fourth en route to a 18-0 win Tuesday over State Fair.
Daryan Torix and Kristen Dempsey enjoyed absolutely monster games against State Fair.
Torix went 4 for 4 with two doubles, a single and a home run, scoring four runs and driving in six. Dempsey, not long after celebrating her birthday, hit two homers for her only two hits and drove in five. Torix and Dempsey combined for six hits and 11 RBI.
Other big days include Bailey Bunch with four runs scored, four hits and two RBI; Paige Mendoza with a pair of hits and three RBI; Bethany Doty with three runs scored; and Mason Andrews with two runs scored and two hits.
Emma Hill allowed four hits over her three innings of work and she both struck out and walked one. Dempsey came on for the final three outs.
Crowder’s rout moved the Roughriders to 50-8 on the season entering another elimination game Tuesday against Three Rivers. Three Rivers stayed alive with a 12-4 win over North Central.
