BRANSON — The Neosho Lady Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the first Tuesday for a good start in their Central Ozark Conference Large opener against the Branson Lady Pirates.
However, Branson scored three in the third and the sixth en route to a 8-2 win.
The Lady Pirates managed to overcome five errors ... it's not every game when the losing team commits four fewer errors than the team in the wins column.
Tori Frazier enjoyed a solid game Tuesday against Branson, with three hits in three at-bats and she walked for a fourth time on base during four plate appearances, doing her job at the top of the Lady Wildcat lineup. She scored one of the two Neosho runs.
Taylor Baker scored the other run and drove in one of the two runs on a fielder's choice. Kaylee Johnson had a hit and drove in the other run. Sierra Jones, Mikayla Long, Kyla Daspit, Breanna Slavens, and Amber Shepeard collected the other hits.
Daspit took the loss, allowing eight runs (five earned) on 13 hits over six innings. She struck out two and walked one.
