WEBB CITY — Neosho Black took a 22-8 win Saturday from Webb City Blue behind a strong combination of defense and timely offense, leaving Webb City Blue blue in more ways than one.

On the defensive side, Blayne Patterson led the way with 10 tackles. Carson Booth added eight, Kelton Shaffer six, and the trio of Mason Spiva, Andre McCamish, and Cale Vandorn each had three. Datyn Jennings and Zack Forsythe each had two stops, while the trio of Drew Weelborg, Aiden McCrory, and Huck Spires each had one. Spires intercepted a pass and returned it 12 yards, while McCrory recovered a fumble.

The young Wildcats went to work behind the offensive line of Booth, Connor Pace, McCamish, Cole Rinehart, and Weelborg.

Spiva rushed for 50 yards on 16 carries and tallied a pair of two-point conversions. Spires added 37 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.

However, the true dynamo with the football was Patterson with his 12 carries for 131 yards and one score.

Special teams players Mason Hall, Zack Willet, Devyn Epling, and Zack Blevins each did their part in the victory.

Neosho Black closes out the regular season Saturday on the road against East Newton.
