WARNER, Okla. — The No. 10-ranked Connors State Cowboys entered Monday’s game at Biff Thompson Field at Perry Keith Field with a 18-1 overall record.

Drenis Ozuna hit a three-run homer for Connors State in the four-run sixth, and the Cowboys corralled seven of their runs on Luper’s grand slam and Ozuna’s Earl Weaver Special.

Nix led off the eighth by reaching on a Luper error. Duncan hit a RBI single bringing home Nix, then Cabrera singled home Morris for a tie score.

An error and a walk gave the Cowboys hope in the bottom of the ninth, but Gregg buckled down with a flyout and a groundout to end the game. Morris stepped on third for a game-ending force.
