The Crowder Lady Roughriders improved to 45-10 overall and 19-2 at home after defeating MCC-Maple Woods 6-0 and 13-5 in five innings Tuesday and North Central 10-2 in five innings and 14-4 in five innings on Monday.

The Lady ‘Riders take a 11-game winning streak into Friday’s road doubleheader against Region 16 rival Jefferson.

In the 13-5 win over Maple Woods, Kenzi Spurgin led Crowder’s 15-hit attack with three and the quartet of Baylor Miles, Makaila Leonhart, Eila Infante, and Maggy Rieschick each came through with two hits, while Lexi McClellan, Kenzie Kallio, Daryan Torix, and Kristen Wade each rounded out the hit parade with their one hit.

Kallio drove in four runs, Miles three, and Spurgin and Torix two each. Spurgin crossed home plate three times, while McClellan, Kallio, Leonhart, and Infante each scored two runs.

Emma Hill earned the win, allowing five runs (two earned) on eight hits over five innings and she struck out three and walked none.

In the 6-0 win over Maple Woods, it was the combination of Maddie Massanelli’s arm in the circle and catcher Baylor Miles’ big bat at the plate that propelled the Lady ‘Riders to victory.

Massanelli pitched a six-hitter and struck out five and walked one.

Miles homered and doubled twice en route to four RBI.

Kallio and Wade each had two hits and McClellan, Leonhart, and Infante each had one hit. Kallio, Spurgin, and Miles each scored two runs. Wade picked up the other two RBI.

In the 10-2 win Monday over North Central, Massanelli again proved strong in the circle and she allowed two runs (both earned) on four hits over five innings with four strikeouts and no walks.

Offensively, Infante led Crowder’s 11-hit attack with three, while the trio of Kallio, Spurgin, and Miles combined for six hits with two each and Wade and Leonhart each had one hit. Spurgin and Torix each hit triples and Torix doubled, so both of her hits were for extra bases.

Leonhart and Infante each scored two runs and Kallio, Miles, Torix, and Wade each scored one run, as Crowder’s No. 2 through No. 8 spots in the lineup scored at least one run.

In the 14-4 win, Crowder scored 10 runs in the first and four in the fourth.

That was definitely more than enough run support for Crowder pitchers Hill and Taylor Mathis, who came on to pitch the final inning.

Hill earned the win and she allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits over four innings and she struck out and walked one. Mathis allowed one run (earned) on one hit and she struck out one and walked none.

Infante produced one hit on the day, a triple, and she drove in four runs, while Wade added three hits and the trio of McClellan, Spurgin, and Miles combined for six hits with their two each. Spurgin and Miles each drove in two runs, while Miles doubled twice and Spurgin once.

Friday’s opponent Jefferson owned a 32-9 record and the teams split their March 8 doubleheader in Neosho, Crowder winning 3-1 and Jefferson earning the split 10-7.
