ROCHESTER, Minn. — When the Northwoods League announced its rosters for the 2018 all-star game that will be played July 24, former Crowder slugger and current Mankato MoonDogs first baseman Kyle MacDonald earned a selection to the North Division roster.

At the time of the announcement Friday, MacDonald had a .287 batting average with 11 home runs, eight doubles, 35 runs scored, and 49 RBI, continuing his power numbers from both Crowder and Arkansas State, his collegiate destination after Crowder.

MacDonald leads the Northwoods League in both homers and RBI.

MacDonald headlines five Mankato all-star selections and he’s joined by outfielder Jake Shepski (Xavier) and pitchers Brandon Pfaadt (Bellarmine), Adam Lukas (Evansville), and Jon Ludwig (Minnesota State-Mankato).

The Northwoods League celebrates its 25th season and features 20 teams: LaCrosse Loggers, Willmar Stingers, Duluth Huskies, St. Cloud Rox, Eau Claire Express, Thunder Bay Border Cats, Bismarck Larks, Rochester Honkers, Waterloo Bucks, Kenosha Kingfish, Lakeshore Chinooks, Wisconsin Woodchucks, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, Battle Creek Bombers, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Kalamazoo Growlers, Green Bay Bullfrogs, Madison Mallards, and Rockford Rivets, in addition to Mankato.
