The Neosho Lady Wildcats broke on through for their first varsity dual victory of the season, 6-3 Wednesday evening over the Monett Lady Cubs at the Neosho Tennis Courts.

Neosho swept all three doubles matches to start the dual and then won three of the six singles matches. The doubles matches are normally vital in a dual.

In doubles, No. 1 Emily Mitchell and Michelle Lindsay defeated Stacy Hurtado and Diana
Rodriguez 8-1, No. 2 Sarah Werner and Juile Phillips defeated Sofia Semerad and Sydney Parrigon 8-2, and No. 3 Morgan Brattin and Rylee Marion defeated Emily Payne and Katherine Smith 8-3.

In singles, No. 1 Mitchell defeated Hurtado 8-3, No. 2 Werner defeated Rodriguez 8-1, No. 3 Phillips lost 8-1 to Semerad, No. 4 Lindsay defeated Parrigon 8-0, No. 5 Brattin lost 8-5 to Payne, and No. 6 Marion lost 8-4 to Smith.

Neosho improved to 1-10 on the season and the Lady Wildcats returned to the courts Thursday against College Heights Christian.

The Lady Wildcats earned a dual victory for the first time since a 5-2 performance last season against Hillcrest in districts.

Neosho had dropped 11 straight duals.

Against Webb City on Tuesday, No. 1 Mitchell lost 8-6 to Rebekah Goldin, No. 2 Werner lost 8-2 to Mallory Smith, No. 4 Lindsay lost 8-5 to Jalen Ansley, No. 5 Brattin lost 8-0 to Sophie Kendall, and No. 6 Marion lost 8-1 to Taylor Yockey.

In dual competition, No. 3 singles Phillips earned Neosho's second individual victory of the season with a 8-5 score Tuesday against Webb City's Alice Morgan. No. 2 singles Werner earned Neosho's first dual victory of the season.

In doubles Tuesday, No. 1 Mitchell-Lindsay lost 8-4 to Goldin-Smith, No. 2 Werner-Phillips lost 8-2 to Morgan-Ansley, and No. 3 Brattin-Marion lost to Kendall and Jaydn Hamilton.

Neosho dropped to 0-8 in Central Ozark Conference duals.

Against Nixa on Monday, Neosho fell 9-0 and lost both JV doubles matches.

In singles, No. 1 Mitchell lost 8-0 to Catherine Everett, No. 2 Werner lost 8-3 to Jennifer Hardy, No. 3 Phillips lost 8-2 to Morgan Mann, No. 4 Lindsay lost 8-2 to Megan Brassard, No. 5 Brattin lost 8-2 to Olivia Stoneman, and No. 6 Marion lost 8-0 to Landrey Miller.

In doubles, No. 1 Mitchell-Lindsay lost 8-0 to Everett-Hardy, No. 2 Werner-Phillips lost 8-2 to Mann-Brassard, and No. 3 Brattin-Marion lost 8-1 to Stoneman-Miller.

In JV matches, Johnson-Oates lost their match 6-1 and Galbraith-Reed lost their match 6-2.
