SARCOXIE — The East Newton Lady Patriots’ season came to an 12-15-3 end Tuesday in the Class 2, District 11 semifinals with a 2-0 loss to host Sarcoxie (25-16, 25-8) at A.L. Gurley Gymnasium.

On Monday, East Newton defeated Southwest 2-0 (25-15, 25-20) to reach the semis.

East Newton seniors Sydnee Allen, Ryli Copeland, and Shelby Guinn had six, five, and four kills, respectively, and Madison McDermott added three. McDermott had a pair of blocks and Copeland tallied one.

Logan Rogers led East Newton with 11 digs, McDermott added 10, and Allen tallied nine. Ellie Enlow and Guinn combined for nine more digs with their six and three, respectively.

McDermott, who seemed to be everywhere Tuesday, and Guinn each led the Lady Patriots with seven assists.

Bonnie Robbins, meanwhile, led Southwest with 10 digs and Mariah Munday added seven. Lacey Reeves totaled 12 digs, Heather Windes 10, Munday and Robbins nine each, and Jacey Ball seven. Windes distributed 12 assists.

Diamond’s season ended Monday in a 2-0 quarterfinal loss (25-17, 25-20) to Marionville.

Hadyn Russow led Diamond with four kills and Dayle Chasten had two and a whole host of Lady Wildcats added one kill (Emily Moore, Emily Valdez, Jae Cowen, Drew Englert, and Loran Atnip) during a match in which they committed 10 errors compared to 11 kills.

Russow paced the Lady Wildcats with 10 digs, while Atnip had nine, Valdez and Chasten six each, and Maddie Cupp five.

Valdez finished with eight assists.

Kaylee Neveln led Marionville with 12 kills and other statistical leaders for the Lady Comets included Shelby Webb with three aces, Kenzie Green with nine digs, and Alyssa White with 21 assists.

Diamond finished 7-16-4 on the season.
