The East Newton Lady Patriots and the Diamond Lady Wildcats each picked up a pair of selections when Class 2, District 11 released its all-district team.

East Newton’s Kaitlyn Massey and Diamond’s Hadyn Russow made the first team, while East Newton’s Madison McDermott and Diamond’s Emily Valdez earned second team.

Massey put together 165 kills, 213 digs, 145 assists, and 31 aces during her senior season, again proving herself to be a most versatile player.

McDermott recorded 161 kills along with 53 solo and 64 total blocks to be that strong front line presence for the Lady Patriots and her numbers also included 120 digs, 46 assists, and 21 aces.

Russow tallied 159 kills, 172 digs, and 32 aces for the Lady Wildcats.

Valdez finished with 264 assists, 139 digs, 43 kills, and 35 aces.

Sarcoxie defeated College Heights in three sets for the district title.
