NIXA — The Neosho Wildcats swept a pair of Eagles in duals Tuesday night, 71-12 over Joplin and 42-28 over host Nixa.
Against Joplin, Nate Copeland (106 pounds) pinned Rocky Walker in 51 seconds, Landon Kivett (113) pinned Josiah Vaughn in 1:31, Cade Daniel (126) pinned Jack Stanley in 4:33, Braxton Barnes (145) won by 20-5 tech fall against Brayden Williams, Alec Rothman (152) pinned Joshua Harryman in 1:30, Jeremiah Larson (170) pinned Brayden Thomas in 3:03, Drayke Perry (195) pinned Connor Brown in 1:47, and Zane Persinger (285) pinned Jacob Booe in 5:01.
Kolton Sanders (132), Noah Reiboldt (138), Keaton Sanders (160), and Caleb Elliot (220) each won by forfeit.
Neosho earned most of its 42 points against Nixa from the 126 to 170 range: Daniel (126) won a 4-0 decision against Dylan Webster, Kolton Sanders (132) pinned Dylan Carter in 1:40, Barnes (145) pinned Dylan Rust in 1:42, Rothman (152) won a 14-12 decision against Kolyn Eli, Keaton Sanders (160) pinned Joe Simmons in 1:51, and Larson pinned Logan Lewis in 2:31.
Elliot (195) won by forfeit and Persinger (220) pinned John Gholson in 3:00 to round out the Wildcats' point scoring.
Neosho returns to action Friday and Saturday in the Missouri Duals at Helias Catholic High in Jefferson City.
The Wildcats are in the Blue Division alongside Helias Catholic, Grain Valley, Owensville, and Father Tolton Catholic.
Gold Division schools are Jefferson City, Waynesville, Blue Springs, Eureka, Lee's Summit West, and Lebanon.
Neosho faces Helias Catholic and Owensville on Friday and Grain Valley and Father Tolton on Saturday.
