JOPLIN — The Seneca Indians came through with a 53-24 victory Thursday night against the Joplin Eagles.

State-ranked Levi Connelly (106) started it off by pinning Rocky Walker in 1 minute, 16 seconds, while Clayton Swadley (120) had 35 seconds remaining in regulation before he collected six more points for the Indians' account and Cole Whitehead (126) pinned Jack Stanley in 4:00.

The Swadley and Whitehead pins were the beginning of 35 unanswered points rattled off by the Indians that formed the core of their victory. After this 35-point run, Seneca led 41-6 in the dual.

Gabriel Commons (132) and Dane Napier (138) each won by forfeit, Dalton Hembree (145) won by a 18-1 tech fall against Brayden Williams, and Zane Cotten (152) pinned Keaton Bradley in 1:27.

Dayton Fields (170) pinned Aiden Short in 37 seconds and Skyleer Commons (195) won by forfeit to close out Seneca's point scoring.

Joplin's Brayden Thomas (160) won by forfeit, while Jadyn Withrow (220) pinned Jakob Tate in 2:28 and Jacob Booe (285) pinned Grant Durman in 3:42.

Seneca participated Friday and Saturday in the Tournament of Champions hosted by Newton (Kansas) and Saturday in the Branson Invitational.
